Digital Card Making with PSP
I love making my own greetings cards and thought that the card challenges would be a lot of fun. I have a lot of paper and pens...and the other things one would need to make great cards. I found myself trying to keep up with what is new on the market... then I realize all the stuff, the papers, glue, and stamps were getting very costly and I was running out of space to store it all.
That is when I decided to make elements for my cards in Paint Shop Pro aka PSP. PSP is a software that I have been teaching myself since version 3. Now using version 13 I have learned that the program can also create images and paint them as well. Light bulb went off...why not use it to make my cards and not just some elements for the cards. And so digital card making began for me...and boy has it saved me money.
This blog now consist of my creations that I have made using nothing but PSP. I found the challenge for me is to teach myself how to meet the different card challenges within PSP.
Well that is how all this digital stuff began...Just thought I share.

The Best Kind of Friend
For the Sherrod Studio challenge this week it was asked that you use a sentiment as the focal point on your card and A Spoon Full of Sugar wants punches. I faded a picture for the background so it would not stand out and the sentiment was placed over the picture. The frame was punched from a sheet of digi paper and then a small heart was punched out of one corner. After all that I colorize a bow to match the frame and place it on the opposite corner of the heart.

You are Someone Special
When I saw the challenges for Digital Tuesday and Sherrod Studio I thought to myself these were meant to be combined...something girlie and pleats. I had the girlie part down now all I had to do was figure out how to make pleats using PSP. I struggle with this one, but was determined not to give up. Then it came to me, one of the textures in PSP is called blinds as in window blinds. There you go, I have created a pleated ribbon. The lace is actually a brush tip in PSP. I think it all came together nicely.

Sherrod Studio - Tuesday Throwdown
I really like the colors that were chosen for this challenge at Sherrod Studio. They blend very well together. I actually have a digi kit that contain papers with the same colors. You will find the colors for the challenge here.

Double Challenge
Wow I can not believe how perfect this is...I have a friend who just redid her kitchen in red and yellow.
This covers 2 challenges. Sherrod Studio which is a color challenge (you will find the colors here) and A Spoon Full of Sugar which is a theme challenge...guess what the theme is...Kitchen/Cooking!
I have met the challenges and my card is done.

Sherrod Studio - Emboss Resist
The requirement for the second challenge over at Sherrod Studio is to show emboss resist on the project. Now my challenge is how to show this digitally. I think using a mask is the ticket. Here is how it would work if I was doing it cut and paste style. I would coat my stamp with a clear resist and stamp it on the blue card stock...then I would take the white stamp pad and stamp over the card. The challenge has been met, my card is done.
