Digital Card Making with PSP

I love making my own greetings cards and thought that the card challenges would be a lot of fun. I have a lot of paper and pens...and the other things one would need to make great cards. I found myself trying to keep up with what is new on the market... then I realize all the stuff, the papers, glue, and stamps were getting very costly and I was running out of space to store it all.

That is when I decided to make elements for my cards in Paint Shop Pro aka PSP. PSP is a software that I have been teaching myself since version 3. Now using version 13 I have learned that the program can also create images and paint them as well. Light bulb went off...why not use it to make my cards and not just some elements for the cards. And so digital card making began for me...and boy has it saved me money.

This blog now consist of my creations that I have made using nothing but PSP. I found the challenge for me is to teach myself how to meet the different card challenges within PSP.

Well that is how all this digital stuff began...Just thought I share.

Best Wishes

I have included the following challenges for this card.

Friday Sketchers...Sketch
Sew Many Cards...Blue and White
Stamp Something...Digi Something

Lets start with the image...when I first acquired it there wasn't any blue on it at all...it was mostly red and green. Using the colorizer in PSP I change the image to the colors that I needed, blue of course. The background paper was created using a snowflake texture that I created also using PSP. The lace frame was provided in the picture/frame tool also in PSP. The ribbon came from a digi stash that I already had, it was actually trimmed in green and red and as you can see I changed it to blue. The boggle was created as well using PSP. Looks pretty good for a digital card don't you think? This one will get printed off at a printer and the lace flower will be added.

Twinkle, Twinkle

This entry is a triple hitter...the 3 challenges are:

Sew Many Challenges...wet or dry embossing
Charisma Cardz Challenge
...any thing goes
Cute Card Thursday...a sketch

The digi stamp I recieved last year from Sew Many Cards...that is what actually started the creation of this card. I thought the image to be so cute I just had to use it and was looking for the perfect challenge for it. I used a digi kit for most of the elements and what was not there I created in PSP.
