Today I am trying out Windows Live Writer. Not sure how it works, but it looks like I can write a post without actually going to my blog and Live Writer will upload it for me…hmmmm interesting.
Beyond the Cut and Paste
Not just your traditional card making.
Digital Card Making with PSP
I love making my own greetings cards and thought that the card challenges would be a lot of fun. I have a lot of paper and pens...and the other things one would need to make great cards. I found myself trying to keep up with what is new on the market... then I realize all the stuff, the papers, glue, and stamps were getting very costly and I was running out of space to store it all.
That is when I decided to make elements for my cards in Paint Shop Pro aka PSP. PSP is a software that I have been teaching myself since version 3. Now using version 13 I have learned that the program can also create images and paint them as well. Light bulb went off...why not use it to make my cards and not just some elements for the cards. And so digital card making began for me...and boy has it saved me money.
This blog now consist of my creations that I have made using nothing but PSP. I found the challenge for me is to teach myself how to meet the different card challenges within PSP.
Well that is how all this digital stuff began...Just thought I share.

A digital pinwheel
The other day I saw a card with a pinwheel attached to it and thought it to be oh so cute. The wheels in my head started turning wondering whether or not I could recreate a realistic looking pinwheel digitally using PSP. Here is my first attempt. The best part about it is because I created it in layers I can change the paper and the size.

Thinking of You
This is a card I created for a challenge at Cardmaking and Paper Craft The papers I used for this card are from a ColorBok packet that i scanned into my computer...that way I can used them over and over and re-size them without waste and keeping the packet intact. The butterfly is from a clear stamp that I also scanned into my software program as a brush. Creating the card digitally allows for me to be able to make changes if needed and also to print as many times as i like without the added cost.

Ageing is Awesome
When I went to Charleston, SC I took several pictures of the Angel Oak tree which is pictured below. I could not see a more fitting tree to put on my card then this one. The card of the tree needs no embellishment added, it stands very well on it's own.
The tree is said to be more then 600 years old. Below the card is a second picture with people standing around it so you can get an idea of the size of the tree.
