Digital Card Making with PSP

I love making my own greetings cards and thought that the card challenges would be a lot of fun. I have a lot of paper and pens...and the other things one would need to make great cards. I found myself trying to keep up with what is new on the market... then I realize all the stuff, the papers, glue, and stamps were getting very costly and I was running out of space to store it all.

That is when I decided to make elements for my cards in Paint Shop Pro aka PSP. PSP is a software that I have been teaching myself since version 3. Now using version 13 I have learned that the program can also create images and paint them as well. Light bulb went off...why not use it to make my cards and not just some elements for the cards. And so digital card making began for me...and boy has it saved me money.

This blog now consist of my creations that I have made using nothing but PSP. I found the challenge for me is to teach myself how to meet the different card challenges within PSP.

Well that is how all this digital stuff began...Just thought I share.

365 Card Challenge - Card Recipe

The challenge over at 365 Cards is to include all items from a given list or commonly known as the recipe.
Here is today's recipe:

5x5 Card
4 different patterned papers
3 blossoms
1 stamped (ink or digital) image
5 rhinestones
The sentiment is up to you

It took me awhile to get this one done. The papers were no problem. I had scanned in some fabric that had squares of several designs in it. I just copy and paste each design separately. The rhinestones were no problem...they were in my stash of digi embellishments...a shout out to for the KatNKDA free addon La Parisienne packet. The image was not a problem...everything on the card is a digital image of sorts. The problem was the blossoms. Trying to find the right flowers now that was a big issue. I could not just put any thing on the had to fit with everything else including the sentiment. I searched and searched my clickart program and I finally found an image that I thought I could work with. I had to do some manipulation but it was not to bad.

I put it all together and stood back. It actually looked pretty good. Challenge met, my card is done!

  1. It's so pretty! The flowers are perfect! Glad you found them!

  2. I think that worked out great! love the roses. so pretty!

  3. great card the rich colors!
