Digital Card Making with PSP

I love making my own greetings cards and thought that the card challenges would be a lot of fun. I have a lot of paper and pens...and the other things one would need to make great cards. I found myself trying to keep up with what is new on the market... then I realize all the stuff, the papers, glue, and stamps were getting very costly and I was running out of space to store it all.

That is when I decided to make elements for my cards in Paint Shop Pro aka PSP. PSP is a software that I have been teaching myself since version 3. Now using version 13 I have learned that the program can also create images and paint them as well. Light bulb went off...why not use it to make my cards and not just some elements for the cards. And so digital card making began for me...and boy has it saved me money.

This blog now consist of my creations that I have made using nothing but PSP. I found the challenge for me is to teach myself how to meet the different card challenges within PSP.

Well that is how all this digital stuff began...Just thought I share.

Baby it's Cold Outside!

I am on a roll today...I have one more card to post.

This one is for Mojo Monday which as always is a sketch challenge. The image on the card came from PCcrafters. The marshmallow brads I created in PSP along with the snowflakes and ribbon, the background digi paper was a freebie from Cuddly Buddly.

The Santa sleigh image is from pccrafters.com which I used to create the tag, the right side of the background came from a picture of a quilt pattern, which I also use to create the ball. Everything else was created in PSP.

Dinner at 8

It is a sketch challenge for Mojo Monday this week...I love a good sketch! For this challenge I used a collection of digi papers and embellishments from Gottapixel called Perfect Pear.
The one thing I like the most about using digi papers and embellishments you can re-size them. See the notebook paper well it was part of the embellishments in the kit. I used PSP pen tool to write on it. Looks real don't it...I thought it was pretty cool looking.

Harvest the Joy

This card qualifies for 3 challenges:
Cards for Men...transport (the wheelbarrow)
Crafting with Deedee's Digis...Sharing goodies
Mojo Monday...sketch which you will find here

I really enjoyed putting this one together. Have to give props where they are due...
all the digi stamps came from pcCrafter's and were illustrated by Carolee Jones. The background is actually five strips of digi paper. I don't remember where the raffia digi image came from.

Mojo Monday Sketch

You will find the sketch for this week at Mojo Monday here.

Today I am so excited I have taught myself a couple of new things using PSP. I mentioned in an earlier post for today I figured out how to do a better job creating glitter...and now I have taught myself how to lace ribbon through eyelet for today's card by using the warp tool and brush tool...cool uh? I am telling you this software is amazing. Anyway here is my card for today's challenge.

Sketch time! As you all know this is my favorite type of challenge. All I have to do is come up with the colors and papers. I download a new digi packet the other day from Craftyscraps.blogspot.com called Misty. Very pretty papers...I used some them on this card. Challenge met my card is done.

Mojo Monday Sketch

Sketch time for Mojo Monday. I just download a pack of digi papers that will go great for this project. After laying out the sketch and applying the papers, for some reason I kept thinking of pears. Not sure why, the thought was just there. I did not have a picture of a pear so I went in search of. Just my luck I found a picture that had the perfect colors for my card. I decided to use it as my focal point. It worked! The challenge was met and my card is now done.
