Beyond the Cut and Paste: Cards for Men

Digital Card Making with PSP

I love making my own greetings cards and thought that the card challenges would be a lot of fun. I have a lot of paper and pens...and the other things one would need to make great cards. I found myself trying to keep up with what is new on the market... then I realize all the stuff, the papers, glue, and stamps were getting very costly and I was running out of space to store it all.

That is when I decided to make elements for my cards in Paint Shop Pro aka PSP. PSP is a software that I have been teaching myself since version 3. Now using version 13 I have learned that the program can also create images and paint them as well. Light bulb went off...why not use it to make my cards and not just some elements for the cards. And so digital card making began for me...and boy has it saved me money.

This blog now consist of my creations that I have made using nothing but PSP. I found the challenge for me is to teach myself how to meet the different card challenges within PSP.

Well that is how all this digital stuff began...Just thought I share.

Happy Holidays

Isn't this just the cutest image. I acquired it last year from who knows where...lol. As always I used PSP to color it in. The embellishments are from my digi stash.
I thought it would be great to use for a card challenge at Cards for Men which is a Christmas theme. I also am using it for Cuddly Buddly which is a new challenge blog for me. For this challenge Cuddly Buddly had a free download of 4 different papers and you were to use as many as you like on your project. I choose to use the one with the red stripe and holly berries on it.

Thanks for Caring

It took me awhile but I finally got this one done. It covers challenges for,
Cards for Men...Animals
Crafting with Deedee's Digis...Thanks
Mojo Monday...Sketch
The Santa sleigh image is from pccrafters.com which I used to create the tag, the right side of the background came from a picture of a quilt pattern, which I also use to create the ball. Everything else was created in PSP.

Harvest the Joy

This card qualifies for 3 challenges:
Cards for Men...transport (the wheelbarrow)
Crafting with Deedee's Digis...Sharing goodies
Mojo Monday...sketch which you will find here

I really enjoyed putting this one together. Have to give props where they are due...
all the digi stamps came from pcCrafter's and were illustrated by Carolee Jones. The background is actually five strips of digi paper. I don't remember where the raffia digi image came from.
